A Message from the Head of School
Carrabassett Valley: from here on, your life will never be the same.
This iconic message rings true for visitors and residents alike, life in Carrabassett Valley is like no other. Sugarloaf Mountain and the rugged surrounding terrain have shaped a close-knit community between the town, the resort, and Carrabassett Valley Academy.
Carrabassett Valley Academy is located at the base of Sugarloaf Mountain, Maine's largest ski resort. CVA student-athletes have direct access to world-class training venues and a longer at-home training season. CVA has a unique location along the 45th parallel and is the northernmost ski and snowboard academy in the East. Our colder temperatures allow for extended snowmaking to start on-snow training at home earlier and the ability to keep our snow later into Spring.
The CVA experience cannot be found anywhere else. A balanced schedule between academics and athletics, individually tailored and supported, allows our students to focus equally on the pursuit of their athletic and academic dreams.
Character development is the responsibility of every member of the CVA Community. In classrooms or on the hill, students are instilled with values of kindness, respect, commitment, and gratitude. Carrabassett Valley Academy’s individual student-centered approach and optimum balance between athletics, academics, and responsible community living, guides our students to reach their full potential both on and off the mountain.
